Voluntary Code of Good Practice

The UK Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators is optional. You decide whether your site adheres to it. This feature lets you turn a public compliance page on or off and work through a self-assessment checklist.

It is off by default. Nothing about the Code shows on your site until you opt in.

Turning it on

Go to Settings → Voluntary Code and switch on Adhere to the Voluntary Code.

When on:

  • Your public compliance page is enabled at /code-compliance. It explains your commitment to the Code and pulls in your contact details.
  • You can link to that page from your footer's legal menu (Settings → Menus). The link is hidden automatically whenever the toggle is off.

When off:

  • The /code-compliance page returns "page not found".
  • Any footer link to it is hidden.

If you displayed the compliance page before this update, it will be hidden until you switch this on. Your checklist progress is kept either way.

The self-assessment checklist

Once you're opted in, a short checklist appears in two groups.

Your responsibility

The items that are genuinely yours to satisfy: a transparent complaints process, credit-card restrictions, responsible advertising, clear draw rules, prompt prize delivery, and appropriate draw timing.

Tick each one when you're satisfied you meet it. You can add an optional link (for example to your complaints page) and an optional note for your own records. How you meet each item is up to you — the platform does not write your policies, and ticking a box is your own attestation, not something the system checks.

One item in this group is tracked for you rather than ticked: keep instant wins below the majority of live competitions. Instead of a checkbox it shows a live figure — how many of your currently-live competitions are instant wins, as a percentage. It turns green when instant wins are a minority and amber if they reach or pass half. This is read straight from your competitions, so it is always accurate.

Built into your platform

Things the platform already provides. There's nothing to tick — these rows are here so you know the capability exists and where to configure it: monthly spend limits, self-exclusion and account closure, harm-monitoring alerts, age and ID verification, showing the likelihood of winning (the Odds Calculator under Appearance), support signposting on your Responsible Play page, the free entry route, and the verifiable RNG draw. Each links through to the relevant settings or page.

Notes

  • The toggle and the checklist are independent. The public page is controlled only by the toggle; you do not have to tick every box before the page shows.
  • Turning the toggle off never clears your checklist. Switch it back on and your ticks, links, and notes are still there.
