Winner Draws

The Draws page is where you pick winners: it queues every competition that has ended or sold out, lets you run a random draw (or record one you ran off-site with a ball machine or wheel spin), handles redraws when a number lands on an unsold ticket, and gives you a signed, publicly verifiable proof for every random draw. It also includes a Livestream Mode for revealing winners live on camera.

Where to find it: Admin → Draws (/admin/draws). The sidebar link shows a badge with the number of competitions waiting to be drawn.

Only Admins can draw winners — staff in other roles who open this page are redirected to the Winners page.

Understand the pending draws queue

The Select Competition panel lists every competition awaiting a draw. Competitions appear here automatically when they end, sell out, or when you cancel a drawn winner (see Redraws after a cancelled winner); if the list is empty you'll see "No competitions awaiting draws".

Each entry shows:

  • The competition title, tickets sold, and winner progress (e.g. 1/3 winners).
  • A purple Manual badge if the competition is set to manual winner selection — these are the ones waiting for you to act.
  • A red Redraw badge when a drawn winner was cancelled and the competition still has a draw outstanding.
  • An amber N needed badge showing how many winners are still to be drawn, or a green tick once all winners are selected.

A competition can show both at once: Redraw and 2 needed on a three-winner competition where you drew two winners and later cancelled one of them.

Click a competition to open its draw panel. The panel header confirms which winner you're drawing (e.g. "Drawing winner #2 of 3"), how many tickets were sold, and the full ticket range (1 to the competition's maximum). When the draw is a replacement, the header says so.

Redraws after a cancelled winner

If you cancel a drawn main prize winner on the Winners page, their winner slot is freed and the competition comes back into this queue with a red Redraw badge, so you can tell it apart from a competition that has never been drawn. The badge stays until every winner slot is filled.

  • Automatic competitions draw the replacement themselves, usually within a minute of the cancellation.
  • Manual competitions wait here for you to run the draw, exactly as the first draw did.

The cancelled winner's ticket is excluded from the replacement draw, so the same ticket can't win twice. If you cancelled by mistake, set the winner back from Cancelled on the Winners page; that restores their win, provided the replacement hasn't been drawn yet. If it has, cancel the replacement first.

This is different from a Full range redraw (below), which happens in the moment when a random number lands on an unsold ticket.

Next to the page actions you'll see an RNG available / RNG unavailable indicator. Draws are generated by a cryptographically secure random number generator; every result is digitally signed and publicly verifiable. If the indicator shows unavailable, see Troubleshooting below.

Automatic vs manual draws

Whether you need to do anything on this page depends on the Winner Selection setting chosen when the competition was created (Automatic or Manual — see Competitions):

  • Automatic — the platform draws the winner for you. If you select an automatic competition in the queue you'll see an Automatic Draw Pending banner instead of draw controls. When the competition has ended, the banner shows the time the draw will run — around five minutes after the end time. When it sold out early, or when the draw is a replacement for a cancelled winner, the winner is selected "any moment now". You don't need to do anything.
  • Manual — the competition waits for you. Selecting it opens the three draw modes described below.

To postpone a draw, change the competition's End Date & Time on its edit page before it ends — automatic draws follow the end date. See Competitions.

Choose a draw mode

Manual competitions offer three tabs. Pick the one that matches how you want to run the draw:

ModeWhat it doesWhen to use it
Sold onlyThe RNG draws from sold tickets only, so every draw produces a winner. The default. Best when the competition didn't sell out and you want a guaranteed winner first time.
Full rangeThe RNG draws from the entire ticket range (1 to the maximum), including unsold numbers. The draw can land on an unsold ticket — if it does, you get the option to redraw. When your terms promise a draw over the whole number range, or you want the added transparency of an any-number-can-come-up draw (common for livestreams).
Manual entryNo RNG — you record the ticket number from a draw you ran off-site, e.g. a ball machine or wheel spin, with an optional source note. When the winning number was produced outside the platform and you need to assign it to the right customer.

Switching tabs clears any result currently on screen. Sold only and Full range are disabled while the RNG is unavailable; Manual entry always works.

This is also the answer to "what happens if the competition doesn't sell all its tickets?" — nothing blocks the draw. Use Sold only for a guaranteed sold winner, or Full range if you want unsold numbers in play with a redraw when one comes up.

Draw from sold tickets only

  1. Select the competition and stay on the Sold only tab.
  2. Click Draw Winner #N. A short "Drawing Winner…" animation runs while the signed random number is generated.
  3. The winning ticket number and the winner's name are revealed, with a green Winner Assigned confirmation.

The winner is assigned immediately — the counter in the header ticks up, and the result appears in Draw History with its verification details.

Draw across the full ticket range

  1. Select the competition and switch to the Full range tab.
  2. Click Draw Winner #N.
  3. One of two things happens:
    • The ticket was sold — winner revealed and assigned, exactly as in sold-only mode.
    • The ticket wasn't sold (a miss) — an amber banner appears: "Ticket #N wasn't sold. This draw is recorded in the audit trail," with a Redraw button. Click Redraw to draw again; repeat until a sold ticket comes up.

Every attempt — including misses — is recorded and appears in Draw History with status Unsold, so your audit trail shows the complete sequence of draws, not just the final winner. The draw button is locked while a miss is on screen; use Redraw to continue.

Record an off-site draw (manual entry)

Use this when the winning number came from outside the platform — a ball machine, a wheel spin, a live TV draw.

  1. Select the competition and switch to the Manual entry tab.
  2. Enter the Ticket Number that was drawn (it must be within the competition's ticket range).
  3. Optionally fill in Source to note where the number came from (e.g. "Ball Machine", "Wheel Spin") — this is stored with the result and shown in Draw History.
  4. Click Assign Winner #N.

The platform validates the ticket:

  • Sold — the winning ticket and the customer's name are revealed with Winner Assigned, and the source note is shown beneath the result.
  • Not sold — an amber warning appears: "Ticket #N wasn't sold. This entry is recorded in the audit trail. Enter another ticket number to try again." The winner is not assigned; draw another number off-site and enter it.

Draw competitions with multiple winners

Winners are drawn one at a time. After each successful draw the panel moves on to the next winner ("Drawing winner #2 of 3…") — keep drawing (or entering numbers) until every winner is assigned. After the final draw the panel header changes to All winners drawn, and the competition shows a green tick in the queue. You can mix modes between winners, e.g. draw winner #1 sold-only and record winner #2 from a wheel spin.

Automatic competitions created with Ensure Unique Winners enabled reject tickets belonging to a customer who has already won in that competition — those attempts show as Duplicate in Draw History and don't count as the winner. (This setting only applies to automatic draws; manually entered results are never rejected as duplicates.) The setting is being retired and can no longer be enabled; competitions already using it keep it until they are drawn. If you want every prize to go to a different person, set Max Per User to 1 instead: with one ticket each, winners are guaranteed to be different people.

Verify a draw (prove it was fair)

Every RNG draw result shows two pieces of proof beneath the reveal:

  • Draw ID — a unique reference for the draw. Click it to copy; the arrow icon next to it opens the public verification page, which anyone (including your customers) can visit to confirm the result.
  • Signature — the cryptographic signature over the result. Click to copy.

If a customer questions a result, send them the verification link — they don't need an account to check it. The public competition page also shows the winner with its draw verification once the draw is complete.

Manual-entry draws have no RNG proof by design; their audit trail is the recorded ticket number, the source note, and the timestamp shown in Draw History.

Run a draw live on stream (Livestream Mode)

Livestream Mode turns the page into a clean, full-screen, branded draw display that's safe to show on camera.

  1. Get everything ready first: open Admin → Draws, select the competition, and choose your draw mode while still in the normal view.
  2. Click Livestream Mode (top right).
  3. The admin sidebar, header and page furniture disappear. The screen fills with your site's theme colours and shows your logo (or site name) as a header — your customers see your brand, not an admin panel.
  4. Run the draw as normal. In Livestream Mode a successful reveal gets the full celebration treatment — the winning ticket pops with a glow and confetti.
  5. When you're done, click Exit Livestream to return to the normal admin view.

Things to know:

  • Livestream Mode is part of the page address (/admin/draws?livestream=1), so refreshing the page mid-broadcast brings back the branded view straight away rather than showing the admin panel on stream. You can also bookmark that address, or use it as a browser source in your streaming software, to open the page already in Livestream Mode.
  • The Draw History table is hidden in Livestream Mode, so past winners and customer details don't appear on stream.
  • Misses and redraws behave exactly the same on stream — the amber "wasn't sold" banner and Redraw button appear, which plays well as a live moment.
  • The Standalone Draw also gets the celebration reveal in Livestream Mode, so you can use it for on-stream giveaways.

Generate standalone random numbers

The collapsible Standalone Draw panel, just above the Draw History table, generates signed random numbers that aren't tied to any competition — useful for ad-hoc giveaways, social media picks, or drawing from a list you hold elsewhere.

  1. Click Standalone Draw to expand the panel.
  2. Set Min Ticket, Max Ticket, and the number of Winners (1–100).
  3. Click Generate Random Numbers.

You get the winning number(s) plus the same Draw ID, public verification link and signature as a competition draw. Nothing is assigned to any customer — it's purely a certified number generator. It requires the RNG to be available.

Review draw history

The Draw History table at the bottom of the page records every draw attempt across all competitions, 20 per page, with a refresh button. Columns:

  • StatusWinner (successful draw), Unsold (a full-range or manual-entry number that wasn't sold), or Duplicate (rejected because that customer had already won).
  • MethodComps.gg RNG (drawn on this page or automatically), Basic (legacy automatic draws), or External (manual entry).
  • Ticket — the number drawn or entered.
  • Winner — the customer's name for successful draws.
  • Competition and Date.
  • Verification — a link to the public verification page for RNG draws, the seed reference for legacy draws, or the source note you recorded for manual entries.

Use this table when you need to evidence exactly what happened in a draw — including every miss and redraw.

After the draw: notify and fulfil

Once a winner is assigned, the competition leaves the pending queue (when all its winners are drawn) and the win is managed from the Winners page — that's where you handle winner contact, prize claims, cash alternatives and fulfilment.

Troubleshooting

The draw landed on an unsold ticket — what do I do? Nothing has gone wrong. Full-range draws can land on unsold numbers by design. Click Redraw in the amber banner and draw again; every attempt stays in the audit trail. In manual entry, simply enter the next number from your off-site draw. If you'd rather guarantee a sold winner first time, use the Sold only mode instead.

The Sold only and Full range tabs are greyed out / it says "RNG unavailable". The random number service is temporarily unreachable, so RNG draws are disabled. You have two options: wait and refresh — the indicator turns back to "RNG available" once the service recovers — or run the draw off-site (ball machine, wheel spin) and record the result with Manual entry, which works regardless.

A competition I expected to draw isn't in the queue. Competitions only appear once they have ended or sold out. Check the competition's end date on its edit page — if it's still live and not sold out, it won't be listed yet. If all its winners have already been drawn, it leaves the queue; check the Winners page instead.

The competition shows "Automatic Draw Pending" instead of draw buttons. It was created with Automatic winner selection, so the platform draws it for you shortly after it ends or sells out (the banner shows the exact time). If you wanted to draw it yourself — for example live on stream — you would need the competition set to Manual winner selection; see Competitions.

I entered a ticket number and it says the ticket wasn't sold. The number you recorded doesn't match a sold ticket, so no winner was assigned. Double-check the number against your off-site draw and enter it again; the failed attempt is kept in the audit trail. If your off-site draw included unsold numbers, draw again and enter the new number.

A customer wants proof the draw was fair. Open the result in Draw History and send them the public verification link — no login required. For manual-entry draws, your evidence is the recorded ticket number, source note and timestamp, plus whatever record you kept of the off-site draw (many operators film it or run it in Livestream Mode).
